A public marriage license requires the signature of at least one witness to the ceremony, and has space for two witnesses to sign. Authorized persons may obtain certified copies of your marriage certificate.
A confidential marriage license differs from a public marriage license in that it is not available for public inspection. Only the applicants may obtain a certified copy of their marriage license. Starting Monday, June 7, City Hall will reopen for in-person services and general public access. This includes in-person services like applying for marriage licenses, obtaining birth and death certificates, recording documents, and registering businesses as well as payment of property and business taxes and fees.
The County Clerk will begin to accept online appointments for in-person marriage ceremonies today and marriage ceremonies no more than six guests will resume after City Hall reopens. In the week prior, starting June 1, some City Hall services will be open for very limited in-person services by appointment only and not open to the general public.

Both parents if living who are shown on the minor's birth certificate, must sign a written consent allowing the minor to apply for the marriage license. A written consent may be provided in person at the Clerk's Office, or if not in person, through a notarized statement. If one parent is deceased, a certified copy of the death certificate must be provided. A parent signing the consent form in person must present current photo identification that shows their name as matching their name on the birth certificate.
Unless a parent is deceased, if one parent is unable or unwilling to sign the consent form, then the minor must obtain an authorization to marry from the district court and provide a certified copy of the court order authorizing marriage to the County Clerk for filing.
