Aloha pos software demo

Aloha POS seems to keep its cards close when it comes to hardware requirements. This may be a bit of a letdown for some business owners. They also offer proprietary mobile devices like the Orderman for table-side ordering and line busting. If you want to use an iPad or Android device, there are plenty of other competitors on the market that offers this option.

So how much does NCR Aloha hardware cost? Integrations and add-ons help you quickly upgrade the features available with your POS provider. Fortunately, you have a lot of integration options on offer via Aloha POS.

These integrations can help you with accounting, payment processing, online ordering, and a range of other functionality. Aloha POS is a bit elusive about its credit card processing compatibilities.

As NCR is a major provider of payment technology, it appears that Aloha POS wants you to work with its in-house solutions — though the prices of these solutions are not publicly available.

Still, you can accept all major credit cards and EMV payments via Aloha POS — which is a distinct advantage in having all components in one solution. After searching for negative feedback about Aloha POS, I found a few things that consistently annoyed some clients. Some users report that the screen flow can be challenging, and you have to click too many buttons to finalize an order or transaction. While not a deal-breaker, this can be a pain if you operate a busy restaurant. More importantly, there are quite a few reviews of customers having problems with response times from support.

There are definitely some strong points associated with Aloha POS; they have the restaurant business down. As Aloha POS is backed by one of the largest payment technology companies in the United States, there will always be some apparent benefits associated with this platform. Unfortunately, Aloha POS is a bit too vague about the individual components of its platform. This leaves me to assume the worst: this is not the best platform for restaurant owners that want a clear and transparent POS provider.

Aloha fits in the medium to large enterprise category. They provide many tools you need to provide great service and grow your business during these crazy times, but at what cost? When considering the overall price with software licenses, hardware, credit card fees, ongoing support, the price might be hard to swallow.

In my opinion, Aloha is a solution for companies that have very have specific needs and requirements, that wants to work with an industry leader, and can afford it. The language on the brand side is not clear, the functionality is antiquated, and NCR should have stuck with just making cash registers.

Software is not their game. The thing I like most is that it does integrate across most restaurant functions - it covers loyalty, POS, has build-ins for inventory, etc. And the POS terminals are great. But the software does not have much going for it. This software looks like it was built super well for the early 10's and hasn't been updated since. Almost 10 years after being built, it hadn't made any UX updates. The loyalty program, though it says it has the ability to segment, does not.

You must pull a report that shows every single one of your Guest Loyalty members, then in your own Excel sheet, filter by location, then filter by when they were last in the restaurant, then filter by the information you're actually looking for. There is no easy way to pull any of this Marketing information.

It worked well for a while, but as we grew busier it became apparent that modifications, and edits to orders were taking much too long, and felt very clunky. I think that Aloha gives servers the ability to streamline their orders and as they become more comfortable with the system they can become quite speedy. I believe that Aloha gives the user more abilities in the front of the house than most POS systems I have used.

I also enjoy the overall lay out of the buttons, as far as having space between each button which makes it easier for touch screen use , and the ability to add as many different sub menus at desired. I wish that there was a way to customize the color of the buttons. I also feel like the strength of Aloha is in its day to day use. When using the master computer to try and revamp, or set up new menu items in the office the process is far from intuitive, and takes a long time to become proficient in.

Maybe if there was a 'helpful hints' type feature for new user that would be a great addition. What is there not to like about software created for staff of all levels of experience. Toast POS is a flexible system built exclusively for restaurants and the food service industry. Offering tools like Compare Learn More.
