Ah well, no idea what to do next. I know this is like years old but I tried googling the answer myself today, and this was the first forum that brings it up. So just for Black and White players sakes I will post the real solution. As someone said there is some weird coding error when you select the directory for the patch to take place. Then open the patch and manually select the folder we just created, the patch will actually work.
